Residential Energy Efficiency & Electrification Campaign

One of the TCMC’s 2024 regional initiatives is to design a Residential Energy Efficiency & Electrification Campaign. Energize Thurston will be a multifaceted outreach and incentive program to advance electrification and energy efficiency in existing residential buildings throughout Thurston County. The TCMC is now conducting background research, engaging stakeholders, and securing funding to launch the campaign in early 2025.

The Switch is On

The first component of the Electrification Campaign launched in 2024 as The Switch Is On: an educational website and outreach campaign that aims to educate, inspire, and make switching to electricity easier for homeowners and renters. The website provides information about the benefits of electric home appliances, and search tools to find vetted contractors and financial incentives. The Switch Is On is available to all residents of Thurston, Pierce, and King counties. It will provide a foundational platform for Thurston residents to access local incentives when the TCMC launches Energize Thurston in 2025.
