Have you been looking for air conditioning, energy savings, or a way to support Thurston’s climate action goals? Heat pumps provide highly efficient, all electric space heating and water heating, plus access to cooling to make your home more comfortable.
Energize Thurston supports your switch to electric appliances by providing access to program-exclusive discounts, instant access to rebates, and customer support to streamline installations of heat pump heating and cooling systems, and heat pump water heaters. A limited number of subsidized installations will be available to income-qualified households.

*Participants with a household income below 120% of Thurston County area median income (AMI) may qualify for funds to cover 80-100% of installation costs, while funding lasts.

HOW IT WORKS
- Attend an educational workshop and submit an application.
- A series of free educational workshops, virtual and in-person, will provide information on heat pump technology, energy savings, and many available financial incentives. You’ll meet the selected installation partners and be able to sign up for a free site assessment. Attending an educational workshop qualifies you for the program-exclusive discounts and incentives.
- Note: You must live within Thurston County limits to participate in Energize Thurston.
- Get a free assessment and quote.
- The Energize Thurston installation partners will provide a free site assessment and recommend the best heat pump system for your home.
- Is your household below 120% of Thurston County area median income (AMI)? You may qualify for funds to cover 80%-100% of your equipment and installation costs.
- Review and sign your contract.
- Review your quote and determine if the recommended heat pump system is the right solution for your home. The installation partner will help prepare and submit forms required for discounts and rebates.
- If you are interested in receiving a second quote from a different Installation Partner, you MUST email energize@co.thurston.wa.us with the name of the company of your choosing to receive program-exclusive discounts and incentives.
